The environmental conditions we have experienced this Summer have created some pressures as it relates to lake conditions, specifically algae development. We are amid a very hot and dry summer season; these are optimum ingredients for algae development. While this is not toxic in nature, it must be dealt with for the long-term health of a very valuable asset to the Stonebridge community. There are many factors involved with proper lake management, timely treatments, weed free littorals, fully functioning aerators, and a little help from Mother Nature. We were dissatisfied with our current contractor response to these issues, so the decision was made to terminate our relationship to focus on results and proper customer service. We have contracted with a new company for increased treatment protocols and enhanced aerator and fountain maintenance. During the next few weeks an onslaught of activity will result in the lakes slow but sure recovery. Expect to see multiple treatments for algae and aquatic weeds. This may result in some desiccation in and amongst the lake banks. Once the lakes have reached the point of “regular maintenance” we are confident that our new contractor will provide proper service to ensure quality lake conditions.
Thank you for your time and patience. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
On another note, we have completed our Summer cultural practices. Some of our programs were scaled back due to the upcoming renovation, but it is imperative to have a healthy stand of turf ahead of and during the process of eradication. The course, as a whole, is in good condition, barring a few spots on the greens that are covered in shade during the summer months. As the sunrise shifts to the south in the next few weeks these areas will recover quickly. With our major tournaments happening much earlier in the Season, we will continue to push for optimum conditions. I am confident our team will rise to the challenge. We are looking forward to a successful season and an epically great renovation.
I will certainly keep you posted on all the developments as they occur.
Thank goodness you didn’t sign on again with them. They sure didn’t seem to know what they were doing. I imagine you were totally frustrated with the service they provided.
